Alaska media show how to use social media to cover the 7.0 quake

Anchorage TV stations kept reporting even when a 7.0 earthquake knocked them all off the air and trashed the CBS affiliate KTVA.  Journalists who had just arrived at work when the quake hit hide under desks, then took to social media to begin reporting what they knew.

KTVA anchors kept reporting live on Facebook even as they dove under the anchor desk in the studio.  The station’s offices and one studio were wrecked.
